• There is a new settings menu in the EASY PLAY section. Please verify your changes. These do replace the QB/RB/Catch assist options.

The textures for this Mod is over 13-14GBs large! This will take a while to download and install!

There are two ways to do this:

Download [Source.ZIP] from Assets (below) and unzip its contents into your emulator folder. Please note, the total install size for textures is over 13GB!!

2. Download the Texture Download/Updater App which automates the installation and keeps you up-to-date!

3. Creating the NCAA NEXT 25 ISO Game Disc Image

Download the NCAA NEXT 25 ISO Installer from Assets (below)

• Unzip the installer to a folder on your computer.
• Place a copy of a NCAA 06 Football ISO file into the same folder.
• Run START.BAT and follow the instructions
• Once it is completed, the NEXT 25 ISO will be in the folder.
• You can delete the folder once you're done!

If the installer fails or something, you can also run it the old fashion way via our install tutorials on www.ncaanext.com
The "mod" folder is the iso mod zip in this case.

This is a quick & dirty version of the manual process:

1. Put NCAA 06 iso in the folder
2. Right Click on the "powershell.ps1" file and choose "Run with Powershell". If this does not work, then Right Click on the NCAA 06 iso, and choose Mount. Then make a copy of the contents into a folder called "next" and go to step 4.
3. It will extract the files from the original ISO into a folder called "next"
4. Open the "Mod" folder, and then move all those files into the "next" folder. This will override a few files, so press Yes when it asks you to.
5. Then open the IMGBURN program and choose "Create image file from files/folder"
6. Choose the "next" folder as the source and then for the destination, choose the location and name of what you want. We can call it NEXT 25.iso for example.

New Features

• Small updates to the roster, primarily forcing redshirts on specific players who are transferring
• Improved simulation stats by allowing CPUs to use more substitutions during simming
• Changed the Simulation Time Of Possession back to 60 minutes, while still targeting 67 plays per game per team (current 2024 league average in FBS)
• Updates to App State, Iowa St, Oregon State textures. These are not required updates, but you can use the Texture Downloader tool to obtain them quickly!

Bug Fixes

• Fixed a bug where the game may crash when viewing Depth Charts while in a game. This fix only applies to new dynasties!
• To fix this bug on an already created Next 25 Dynasty, please enter the "Pre-Season Options" menu at the beginning of a new season and this will automatically fix the save file! If you've already done this in your dynasty, then your save should not experience this bug!
• Fixed issue with Georgia State head coach not showing up correctly and crashing games (v15.2b)
• Fixed issues with FCS teams that are swapped into new Dynasties having probation/ncaa violation issues (v15.2c)

Dynasty Save Patching Utility for users who created saves from original Next 25 v15.0

This is for users who have already started or have gone beyond the 2nd year (2025) of their dynasty. Please use the included Dynasty Save Patching utility to load up your save file, and patch it. This will correct the bowl dates, and also fix the season 2 schedule so the game can properly play the national title game. This is only required if you are already in year 2 or beyond. New saves do not need to patch!

Save files will be located in your "MEMCARDS" folder of your emulation installation directory. If you used a *.ps2 memory card format, you will need to use the tool MyMC to extract the save out to patch and then re-insert after you are completed.

It is recommended to make a copy/backup of your save prior to patching just in case something goes wrong!

KNOWN BUGS & IMPORTANT GAMEPLAY INFO

• To use the built-in latest roster, please remove any existing rosters you have saved on memory cards or "RESET ROSTERS" in the System menu of the game!
• There is a new settings menu in the EASY PLAY section. Please verify your changes. These do replace the QB/RB/Catch assist options.
• When user uses the NO HUDDLE function, you must audible to a new play before snapping otherwise you will down the ball.
• If you make two long sims in a row during dynasty mode, please exit out of the schedule screen before simming a third consecutive time.
• Please make a save at the beginning of off-season and at the beginning of a new season, exit out. Then reset the emulator and start again. This avoids crashes later!

Some users have seen a rare (or maybe not so rare) case where safeties occur on kickoffs when they shouldnt. This is due to the game not behaving correctly in rare situations, which we have unfortunately not been able to replicate/reproduce and fix. So because of that, we are reverting the Kick-Off touchback rule back to the original version, which means touchbacks can only occur in the endzone and not anywhere within their own 25 yard line.

With that said, we decided to release an updated file that will require a new Game ISO be generated. It is now the current version as of 09/29/24 9PM PST

This does not affect other things, so if you can update later or at your leisure.

2. Textures Installation

Please remove previous installations unless you've already switched over to NEXT 25 BETA from V3 onward. If you are using V14 you can save some time by renaming the "Uniform Expansion" folder to "uniforms" and delete everything else. NEXT 25 Beta users can continue by updating your files with the Texture Download App!

• You will need to make a Free GitHub account to get started. This tool will auto-update your textures whenever you run it in the future!
• To download the Windows App, find and click on the "RELEASES" area of the GitHub page link (or click the Releases link).

Alternative - Download [Source.ZIP] from Assets (below) and unzip its contents into your emulator folder. Please note, the total install size for textures is over 13GB!!

3. Creating the NCAA NEXT 25 ISO Game Disc Image

Download the NCAA NEXT 25 ISO Installer from Assets (below)

• Unzip the installer to a folder on your computer.
• Place a copy of a NCAA 06 Football ISO file into the same folder.
• Run START.BAT and follow the instructions
• Once it is completed, the NEXT 25 ISO will be in the folder.
• You can delete the folder once you're done!

If the installer fails or something, you can also run it the old fashion way via our install tutorials on www.ncaanext.com

BETA V5 Updates

Beta 5c is now available. It fixes two bugs related to walk-ons not showing up, recruits changing faces and users getting assigned random bowl games. It also updates coaching databases with new strategy/tendencies, and removes requirement for FBs for spread offenses!
